It’s been almost two weeks since I got the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II. It is the noise cancellation earphones that I think have a better experience than the AirPods Pro 2 so far, and it is also a big improvement compared to the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds. Today, I will talk to you about the experience of using this earbuds and some advantages and disadvantages. I hope it will be helpful to friends who are going to buy noise cancelling headphones.

Excellent wearing comfort
First of all, when it comes to wearing comfort, you must know that the current TWS earbuds are getting smaller in size and lighter in weight. The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II is no different this time around. Compared to the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds, they are smaller in size and weight. Although the weight of a single earbud of 6.24g is still not very light today (the weight of the AirPods Pro 2 is 5.3g), the comfort is very good. Only later did I find out that the secret was in this brand new “Fit Kit” set.
Unlike the one-piece eartips of the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II feature separate eartips from the stabilizing ring. A pair of eartips can match 3 sizes of stabilizing rings, that is, 3×3 groups of free combinations. Even if your ears are big on one side and small on the other, you can have the right combination of eartips.
After I quickly found a combination of eartips that fit my ear size, the earbuds fit comfortably in my ears for two hours. In addition, for female users with small ears, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II can also meet the wearing needs of such users well.
The operation method supports touch and sliding operations like other similar TWS earbuds. Slide your finger up and down to adjust the volume, but like the AirPods Pro 2, you can only adjust the volume one bar at a time. Too loud or too low volume requires multiple swipes on the earbuds housing.
Control of Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II:
- Tap once L or R earbud: play/pause music
- Tap once L or R earbud: answer/hang up
- Double tap L or R earbud: next song/reject call
- Triple tap L or R earbud: previous song
- Swipe up/down L or R earbud: volume+/volume-
- Long press L or R earbud: switch noise cancellation mode
Exclusive technology blessing, more better sound quality
In terms of sound quality, Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II adopts the exclusive new technology of “CustomTune” intelligent in-ear sound field adjustment, which can automatically calibrate the sound output according to the unique characteristics of the user’s ear. In terms of listening sense, the improvement in sound effect is quite obvious, which can provide strong, sharp and very full sound effects for earbuds. The sound field is wider than AirPods Pro 2 and Sony WF-1000XM4.
Compared to the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds, Bose gave the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II a more vibrant sound this time around. There’s a good balance between full, punchy lows and clear, detailed mids and highs. In my opinion, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II’s bigger sonic improvement is that the distortion is less noticeable when playing music at lower volumes, which is an easily audible difference compared to the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds.
In addition, in the Bose Music App, there are 4 useful preset EQs (bass boost, bass cut, treble boost, treble cut). Each preset EQ also has a 3-band frequency slider for fine-tuning the sound.
Noise cancellation is still the strongest in the industry
In terms of noise cancellation, the aforementioned “CustomTune” will also automatically adjust the noise cancellation strength of earbuds, which can effectively block low-frequency and mid-frequency noise. It also allows users to hear musical details more clearly and minimizes the impact of wind noise.
Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II provides two modes of noise cancellation and transparency. You can adjust and save 2 intensity settings (a total of 10 levels of noise cancellation intensity) in the Bose Music App.
Transparency mode allows users to hear external ambient sounds without affecting sound quality. And through the “ActiveSense” automatic adjustment function, to ensure that you can clearly hear the music and ambient sound at the same time, this experience is very good.
The battery life is not as good as Apple and Sony
In terms of battery life, earbuds can be used for 6 hours each time, the same as AirPods Pro 2. But lower than the Sony WF-1000XM4’s 8~12 hours.
The earbuds can be used for a total of 24 hours with the charging case, which is not satisfactory. To know that the total battery life of the AirPods Pro 2 can reach 30 hours, and the Sony WF-1000XM4 can reach up to 35 hours. In the case of larger earbuds and charging cases, the battery life of the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II is not as good as the two earphones of Apple and Sony, which is a bit unreasonable.
And in terms of charging speed, a 20-minute charge provides 2 hours of playback, which doesn’t sound fast at all. At the same time, the charging case does not support wireless charging.
Conclusion
Compared with the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II have improved in terms of appearance design, wearing comfort, sound quality and noise cancellation. In particular, the noise cancellation effect is still the strongest in the industry. At the same time, it also brings two exclusive new technologies, CustomTune and ActiveSense, which can well balance the sound quality and noise cancellation.
Of course, the downside is battery life, which in my opinion really shouldn’t be the case. For heavy users and users who often need to commute for a long time, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II may still cause you to have battery life anxiety. In general, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II are a big improvement this time, and they are also more expensive.
