Appearance Design, Comfortable and Battery Life
The appearance of Bose QuietComfort looks almost the same as Bose QuietComfort 45. The Bose logo is printed on the outside of the left headphone, and the pickup microphone is set up. The layout of the right headphone is the same as that of the left headphone, but it also has a three-stage button that includes power on/off and bluetooth pairing functions.
The inner part of the headbeam close to the top of the head is filled with sponge filling, and the outer layer is made of imitation leather material, which is more comfortable to the touch. There are retractable structures on both sides of the headbeam, which adopts step-by-step adjustment to meet the comfortable wearing needs of different users. The connection between the headbeam and the earmuffs is equipped with a rotating structure that support two-axis rotation, making it easy to adjust, wear, and fold for storage.
There is an operation button on the side of the left headphone to switch the noise cancelling mode. The right headphone is equipped with volume buttons and multi-function button for media and call control. There is a 2.5mm AUX audio output port at the bottom of the left headphone, and a USB-C charging port at the bottom of the right headphone.
Bose QuietComfort has a soft sponge on the inside of the headbeam, and the contact area with the top of the head is relatively large, which can well distribute the weight throughout the head. The multi-axis adjustable earmuffs have a good fit with the head, and the hollows in the earmuffs are of moderate size, which can wrap the ears of most users and bringing a good experience.
The shortcoming should be the artificial leather on the inside of the ear pads and headbeam. Although the material is relatively soft and skin-friendly, it is slightly less breathable and prone to sweating when worn for a long time.
The single battery life with ANC on is up to 24 hours. Also, Bose QuietComfort support fast charging, with 15 minutes of charging providing 3 hours of playback.
Connectivity, App Support and Controls
In the factory state, flip the three-position switch to the middle to turn on the headphone power. At this time, there will be a “Ready to Connect” voice prompt in the headphones – select “Bose QuietComfort” in the phone’s bluetooth device list to complete the connection.
Also, Bose QuietComfort also supports wired connection and multipoint connection. Plug in the 2.5mm-to-3.5mm AUX audio cable to use the headphones in wired mode.
Bose QuietComfort supports the Bose Music App for Android and iOS – once you install and open the app, it automatically connects to the headphones. The app provides noise cancelling control, multipoint connection bluetooth device management, quick operation options, custom EQ, firmware update, and more.
In terms of operation control, the button combination on the right headphone includes volume adjustment, play/pause, answer/end call, and track switching. The control button of the left headphone can switch the noise cancelling mode and broadcast the battery level by single-tap and long press.
Noise Cancelling Mode of Bose QuietComfort
Bose QuietComfort inherits the noise cancelling technology of the QC series and adds a new wind noise filtering function to bring a stronger noise cancelling experience. In the factory default state, the headphones provide noise cancelling mode and transparent mode.
I tested it in a variety of different scenarios such as the office, subway, and outdoors, and the noise cancelling performance of Bose QuietComfort is still excellent. When the maximum noise cancelling level is turned on, the ambient noise under passive noise cancelling + voice pickup active noise cancelling will be greatly reduced.
If you add a custom noise cancelling mode, you can adjust the noise cancelling level independently. In addition, the wind noise filtering function can be turned on – in windy weather scenes, it can further reduce the impact of environmental noise. The transparent mode on Bose QuietComfort picks up brighter ambient noise when you need it, letting you hear your surroundings.
Sound Quality of Bose QuietComfort
The overall sound quality of Bose QuietComfort inherits the style of Bose QuietComfort 45.
Bose QuietComfort’s tuning is not heavy – on the basis of restoring the sound, it further improves the dynamics according to the preferences of most users. The tri-frequency balance, sufficient low-frequency quantity and quick response. The mid-to-high frequencies are slightly enhanced, giving the headphones a more dynamic and analytical effect.
Overall, the Bose QuietComfort is a continuation of the Bose QC45 in terms of sound quality. The sound of the headphones has certain stylized adjustments, but is not radical and is pleasant and durable.
Conclusion
Bose QuietComfort Headphones inherit the excellent performance of Bose QuietComfort 45 in terms of sounding and noise cancelling performance. With new color, outstanding hearing and excellent experience, the QuietComfort series has been “refreshed”.
