Soundcore is an audio brand under Anker. With the rapid development of the TWS earbuds market, Soundcore has also joined this market and continued to launch innovative products, becoming the first Chinese headphone brand to break into the TOP 10 global TWS earbuds sales. After returning to the Chinese market in 2020, the products are also loved by many consumers.
What will be dismantled this time is the Soundcore R100, a TWS headset product launched by Soundcore and 890 Xinshangxue. The overall appearance uses a very clean white color, and the touch is smooth and round. The configuration uses a 10mm wool paper composite diaphragm dynamic driver, bluetooth 5.0, supports AI call noise reduction, fast charging, IPX5 waterproof, 6.5 hours of single battery life and 25 hours of overall battery life.
52audio’s teardown the soundcore headphones include: Soundcore Liberty Air 2 Pro, Soundcore Life Dot 2, Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro, Soundcore Liberty Air 2, Soundcore LIcoreY SpiritSound waterproof bluetooth headset. Let’s take a look at the internal structure of this product.
01/ Soundcore R100 Charging case teardown
After unpacking, we have a detailed understanding of the appearance design of this product, as well as the general internal layout through the location of some interfaces. Let’s enter the dismantling link and take a look at the materials of this product.
Pry open the charging case and take out the charging cockpit.
In the cockpit side structure, the main board is located at the bottom of the cockpit, the battery is located in the middle position, and the upper and lower sides are pasted with double-sided tape for good protection.
charging case The other side of the cockpit.
The main board is fixed to the bottom of the charging cockpit by screws, the Hall element and LED indicator cable are connected to the main board through the ZIF connector, and the battery unit wires are welded to the main board.
Remove the main circuit in the charging case, and there are 3 square magnets at the bottom of the cockpit to absorb the earphones and the charging case cover.
The FPC cable circuit has a Hall element at the end and two LED indicators of different colors in the middle.
LED indicator.
The Hall element of the silk screen Hy1HB is used to perceive the magnetic field changes when the charging case lid is opened/closed. The Hall element will detect it, and then notify the charging case that the MCU and headset are paired or disconnected from the connected device.
Circuit on the motherboard side.
A list of the circuits on the other side of the motherboard, there are test points on the back, charging thimble, and no components on the back of the motherboard.
The charging case uses the TPS SY8815 bluetooth headset charging bin solution. Internally integrated charging module and discharging module. The charging current can be adjusted externally, and the discharging module integrates two output current limit switches, providing independent load presence detection and load insertion detection, and supports output current detection.
SY8815 supports discharge enable control, and MCU can directly control the discharge function of the chip flexibly through EN. SY8815 integrates a single-wire status code output, which is convenient for the chip to report the chip status to the MCU. SY8815 is very suitable for the design of the bluetooth headset charging compartment, which greatly simplifies the peripheral circuits and components, and provides a simple and easy-to-use solution for the application of the bluetooth headset charging compartment.
According to 52audio, the TPS power management chip has been adopted by many well-known brands such as Soundcore, OPPO, Xiaomi, Baidu, 1MORE, 233621, and OnePlus.

Pry the earphones along the parting line.
A soft-pack button battery is used in the earphone, which is fixed on the back of the speaker with double-sided tape.
The soft-pack button battery model GF1254, voltage 3.7V, capacity 0.222Wh, comes from Xinyu Ganfeng as the charging case battery.
An isolation layer is arranged in the rear cavity to separate the battery and the main board unit.
The front of the speaker unit is protected by a metal cover, and the wool fiber diaphragm can be seen inside.
On the back of the speaker unit, the side tuning hole is protected by a dust-proof net.
After actual measurement, the size of the dynamic driver is about 10mm, which is consistent with the official publicity.
In the internal structure of the front cavity, a dust-proof net is arranged inside the tuning hole.
The arc-shaped magnet that fits the cavity is fixed in the card slot and is used for adsorption to the charging cockpit.

What do you mean with “supports AI call noise reduction”? Soundcore app doesn’t support R100, as confirmed by Soundcore support team themselves. Any setting on Android/Huawei phone to reduce noise?
Yes, adjusting the noise cancelling level is not supported. Because the R100 doesn’t have ANC mode.
“AI call noise reduction”, assuming some sort of voice focus function, is something tunable at the phone level? Asking because Soundcore team confirmed has no app support nor firmware update available for R100.
There should be no way. The “AI call noise reduction” function I understand is a passive “skill”. The Soundcore R100 is a joint customized version of Soundcore and another Chinese brand.
Something that doesn’t add up is the name. AI / ML models are replaceable with a software update. But maybe the entire AI thing is simply not there.
