HIFIMAN HE-R10 Dynamic Version headphones simple review

On a rainy night in mid-August, I had the honor to participate in the HIFIMAN HE-R10 Beijing Exclusive Tasting and experienced HIFIMAN’s new products: HE-R10 Dynamic Version, HE-R10 Planar Version, HM1000. I also experienced the Sony MDR-R10, and the flagship amp EF1000. It was also on this day, for the first time that the ears truly enjoyed the ultimate auditory feast. The wall was full of money. It was not too overbearing. It was also on this day that I met HE-R10.

Not long ago, the HIFIMAN R2R2000 player was upgraded (repurchased) by adding money to the HIFIMAN HM1000. I have been using HIFIMAN RE800 headphones all the time, and I have to say that I like them too much. I have been with me for 500 days and nights, and I have cultivated feelings. After posting the player in the headset forum, many netizens recommended to try the headset, and suddenly remembered that night, that HIFIMAN HE-R10. But the HE-R10 Dynamic Edition also costs 8,000 RMB, and the Flat Edition is priced as high as 30,000 RMB. In order to prevent impulsive consumption, I contacted the HIFIMAN Beijing agent I met during the event to explain the trial application. Fortunately, it succeeded. I borrowed the HIFIMAN HE-R10 Dynamic Edition, and then use it first before deciding whether to buy it.

Appearance Design

The outer box of HIFIMAN HE-R10 is made of leather + metal material, and the overall appearance is higher than that of the HM1000 player.

Open the box and you can see the product manual and warranty card. There is a layer of anti-collision foam in the middle to prevent bumping into the headset during transportation. The details also reflect the attitude to the flagship product.

It comes standard with a 1.5-meter-long 3.5mm headphone cable, which can be used with most portable audio devices, mobile phones or PCs.

In addition, there is a 1.5-meter-long 4pin XLR balanced headphone cable and a 3m-long 6.35mm single-ended cable, which can be used with professional headphone power amplifiers. A variety of wires, suitable for a variety of scenarios, can meet the needs of users with different front-end needs.

After the release of HIFIMAN HE-R10, some people indeed questioned that HE-10 was copying Sony MDR-R10, and I did not want to comment on it. But with the release of HE-R10 Dynamic Edition, the lower threshold allows more people to realize their dream of owning an R10. use experience!

In terms of materials, HIFIMAN HE-R10 uses a CNC combination of wood and aviation aluminum. The chemical reaction of the two different materials still presents a very good artistic beauty. In addition, you can choose different materials such as walnut, ebony, and cherry to bring your own unique HE-R10.

The head beam is wrapped in lambskin, the leather feels very comfortable to the touch, and the soft and delicate texture will be very comfortable to wear. Wearing the HIFIMAN HE-R10 in winter will not feel cold to the ears, and the head beam is still warm when the earphones are taken off. Compared with the artificial protein leather, you can still feel a different sense of luxury.

The ear cushion part does not use leather, but a fabric-like material. Friends who have used leather ear cushions in the summer should remember the uncomfortable feeling, and personally prefer ear cushions made of fabric materials, which are really more comfortable.

The two-way adjustable head circumference can better meet the needs of users of different ages and different head circumferences. A looser adjustment can also reduce head pressure when worn for a long time.

HIFIMAN HE-R10 uses a unilateral cable design and supports bluetooth adapters. Friends who are familiar with HIFIMAN may ask the HE-R10 bluetooth adapter and the DEVA bluetooth adapter of the bluetooth wired headset released not long ago. We will reveal the answer later.

Feeling of using

Compared with the HIFIMAN RE800 headphones that have been used for a long time, this kind of headphones is definitely heavier, but compared with the ANANDA-BT open headphones, the HE-R10 with a weight of 337g is also considered a very light level.

HIFIMAN is also one of the audio manufacturers known for “good workmanship and materials”. Therefore, the topological diaphragm black technology that HIFIMAN is proud of must be included as standard, plus a single crystal voice coil and super strong rare earth magnets, and finally a 50mm diameter dynamic speaker unit is formed.

In wired mode, I chose the newly purchased HIFIMAN HM1000 as the front end. The 32Ω impedance mobile phone can also be driven. I listened to the four songs 《渡口》, “Hotel California”, 《偏偏喜欢你》 and “One I Love”. The overall feeling is HIFIMAN HE-R10 has a strong sense of separation and layering, especially the musical instrument part. In the female a cappella part of “One I Love”, you can clearly hear the singer’s breath while singing. It may be that the running-in time of the earphone is slightly shorter. Although the high frequency part is not harsh, the feeling of roundness and rebound is still worse than the feeling at the tasting meeting of the day. Of course, the front end on the day of the event was the EF1000 with a price close to 100,000 RMB.

As mentioned above, it can be used with the HIFIMAN bluetooth adapter to turn on the bluetooth headset mode, and it supports multiple bluetooth protocols such as LDAC/AAC/SBC. It is more convenient to listen to songs with a mobile phone. I just have DEVA in my hand. I tried to use the DEVA bluetooth adapter to install on the HIFIMAN HE-R10 headphones. The result is indeed universal. In this way, one bluetooth adapter can be used with multiple headsets, just like a charger can charge multiple mobile phones.
