Today we are diving into another TOZO true wireless earbuds. The third updated version of TOZO NC9 is called TOZO NC9 2024. They came into the market in 2020. TOZO NC9 2020 was the original version of NC9.
They deliver on sound quality, build design, noise cancellation, and overall user experience. If you’re in the market for wireless earbuds that perform at the level of premium brands without the hefty price tag, these are definitely worth considering.

Appearance Design and Comfortable Fit
The TOZO NC9 charging case is very small and light, and can be easily put into a pocket, suitable for daily travel. The surface has been frosted, and the feel and texture are good. The case adopts a flip spring structure, which feels good when opened and closed, and is not loose.
There is an LED display on the front of the charging case – when the earbuds are placed back in the case, it will show the remain battery of the case and the earbuds. There is a USB-C port and a button on the back of the charging case. Press the button to quickly check the battery status on the display, or you can reset the earbuds and restore factory settings by long pressing.
The ergonomic design of TOZO NC9 earbuds makes them fit the curve of the ear very well and very comfortable fit to wear. Each earbud weighs only 5g, which is very light. Even if you wear them for a long time, you will not feel ear pain or discomfort. Whether it is during exercise, commuting or working, they can stay stable in ears and will not fall off easily.
Also, the NC9 earbuds use a fully sealed cavity waterproof technology (HydroGuard™), reaching the IPX8 waterproof resistance. In actual testing, the earbuds still work normally in a light rain environment.
Connectivity, App Support and Controls
The earphones use the Bluetooth 5.3 protocol and support SBC and AAC codec. When connecting for the first time, you need to take out the earbuds and select “TOZO NC9” in the bluetooth device list of the mobile phone to quickly connect. When using it again, take out the earbus to automatically connect to the last successfully paired bluetooth device.
Unfortunately, the TOZO NC9 does not support multipoint connection and wireless charging functions.
TOZO NC9 supports TOZO App for Android and iOS. The app includes firmware updates for the earbuds, displays the battery status of the earbuds/case, sound effect options, noise cancellation settings, touch control settings, white noise, and activate the low-latency mode.
When it comes to the controls, the NC9 is different from many TWS earbuds in that single-tap the left/right earbuds has different control schemes. The default control scheme is comprehensive:
- Single-tap R earbud to play/pause music
- Single-tap L earbud to switching between ANC/Transparency mode
- Single-tap L or R earbud to answer call
- Double-tap L/R earbud to previous/next track

The TOZO NC9 support low latency mode. Playing games and watching videos is no problem – they works without issues on both Android and iPhone with perfect sound and picture sync. There’s lipsync performance in video apps like YouTube, Netflix, TikTok and Apple TV.
The battery capacity of the charging case is 500mAh, while that of the earbuds is 55mAh. Their 14-hour battery life should last a full workday, and the charging case can fully charge the earbuds three additional times. With ANC mode on, the battery life is still up to 10 hours.
Noise Cancellation Performs and Calls
TOZO NC9 2024 supports Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), with a maximum noise cancellation depth of 45dB. The app provides 6 noise cancellation modes: Noise Cancellation Mode, Transparency Mode, Reduce Wind Noise, Leisure Mode, Normal Mode, and Custom Pattern – you can switch flexibly according to your needs, and also support custom noise cancellation depth to get a noise cancellation experience that suits you.
The NC9 has a certain passive noise cancellation capability due to its in-ear design. After turning on the ANC mode, the noise cancellation effect is very obvious. The driving sound of the car and the tire noise can be filtered out. The air conditioner running sound, fan sound and the distant conversation in the office can all be blocked. However, the nearby conversation, keyboard sound and sharp noise can still be heard.
Overall, the ANC feature works surprisingly well. It effectively cancels out background noise, making it great for commuting or working in noisy environments.
The transparency mode on the TOZO NC9 2024 will pick up brighter ambient noise when you need it, allowing you to hear your surroundings. Play music at a moderate volume, and this feature doesn’t work when you’re talking to others, so it’s best to pause the music.
In terms of calls, the TOZO NC9 also performs well. It uses 6-microphone ENC call noise cancellation technology, which can automatically identify and eliminate noise, including wind noise, traffic noise and other noises. Even in a noisy environment, it can ensure clear communication. Moreover, the use of Deep Neural Network (DNN ) noise cancellation technology makes the call quality more stable.
Acoustic Configuration and Sound Quality
TOZO NC9 2024 has a built-in 10mm dynamic driver and supports AAC and SBC codec. The TOZO acoustic team tuned the sound, using Bass+ acoustics technology, AELC technology and TOZO OrigX2.0 acoustic technology to accurately restore audio information.
The bass is full, the energy is strong, and the extension is deep, which is very suitable for wearing during exercise. The soundstage is wide, the instrument separation is good, and the vocals are warm and pleasant to listen to; the highs is clear, transparent, bright, and without harsh.
Although the mids and highs are still far behind those of high-priced wireless earbuds, they are enough for listening to pop music. It would be even better if the tri-frequency separation was a little higher.
Overall, the sound is crisp, with deep bass and clear highs. Whether I’m listening to music, podcasts, or taking calls, the audio comes through clearly. Sound is excellent for this price-point.
